Head of Airline Charges
About the position
As Head of Airline Charges, you will be part of the Sunclass Commercial Team. The role is based in Dragør, Copenhagen Airport South, and has no direct reports.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing airport, air navigation and overflight charge structures across the Sunclass Airlines network. You will help create transparency around charge developments, assess cost impact and support commercial, operational and network-related decision-making.
This is a role with significant long-term impact on the business. You will not only be working with current cost structures, but also helping us build a stronger and more structured way of managing charge exposure over time. We are therefore looking for someone who is motivated by creating lasting value and who wants to take ownership of an important area of the business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Building, maintaining and developing relationships with airports, Eurocontrol, regulators, industry bodies and other relevant external stakeholders.
Monitoring and analysing airport, enroute and overflight charges across the airline’s network.
Assessing the financial impact of regulatory changes, new fees and revised charge models.
Supporting network planning, operational decision-making, budgeting and long-term forecasting with clear cost insights.
Coordinating with tour operators, finance, operations and the commercial team to ensure charge assumptions are reflected accurately in pricing, contracts and planning.
Identifying opportunities to reduce or optimize charge costs through negotiations, incentive schemes, process improvements and external engagement.
Creating structure, frameworks and processes that give the business better visibility and control of this cost area.
Who we are looking for
Must haves:
Proven experience within procurement, supplier management, commercial agreements or external stakeholder management.
Experience working with cost drivers, pricing structures or financial impact analysis.
Strong analytical skills and confidence working with numbers, data and commercial assumptions.
Experience creating structure, frameworks or processes within a business area.
Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
A proactive and independent approach, with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working and influence decisions.
You do not need to have previous experience with airline charges specifically to succeed in this role. However, you do need to bring a solid understanding of pricing structures, cost drivers or similar commercial models from your previous experience.
Since the role works closely with several Scandinavian stakeholder groups, knowledge of a Scandinavian language is an advantage. This does not need to be fluent, and even a basic or developing understanding can be helpful.
We are looking for someone who is structured, analytical and commercially curious. You are comfortable working independently, but you also know how to involve and coordinate with stakeholders across commercial, operational and financial teams. You are proactive, forward-leaning and motivated by building something that can create long-term value for the business.
Your personal qualities are important to us. To succeed in this role, we believe you are confident enough to ask questions, challenge assumptions and take ownership of an area where the impact may not always be immediate, but where the long-term business value is significant.
