Background check in Sunclass Airlines
To be employed in Sunclass Airlines, you are required to undergo a background check.
The purpose of the background check is to assess whether you meet the security requirements for our aviation operations. An approved background check is a mandatory requirement before you can start your employment with us.

What is a background check?
A background check is a security check required for everyone working in aviation. It is defined by EU regulations and the National Aviation Security Programme (NASP) and applies to all employees at Sunclass Airlines.
Why do we do a background check?
According to legislation, all aviation employees must undergo a background check. The purpose is to ensure safety, security and compliance with aviation security requirements.
Why do we always do a Danish background check?
Sunclass Airlines is a Danish-registered airline, therefore you as a candidate need an approved background check carried out by the Danish police in addition to one connected to the country you live in (e.g. Norway, Sweden, Finland).
What kind of information is needed for the background check?
A CV with complete dates (YYYY-MM-DD) of your work and education in the last 5 years
Documentation supporting your CV, such as diplomas, certificates, employment references etc.*
Documentation for any gaps or interruptions in CV longer than 28 days**
Country of residence during the last five years
A copy of your passport
Criminal record from all countries where you have lived during the last five years
How does Sunclass handle the information?
The Security department at Sunclass Airlines handles all information and makes an initial assessment before submitting it to the Danish Police for approval.
The police review normally takes around 8 weeks, which is why it is important that all information and documentation is submitted in good time.
Employment can only begin once the background check has been fully approved.
All information is handled in accordance with GDPR and aviation security legislation. Access is strictly limited to authorised Security personnel at Sunclass. The information is used only for security purposes and is stored for as long as you are employed and then securely deleted.
As an employee, your background check is updated once per year. This annual check is less extensive than the one completed before you start your employment.
* Supporting documents that are approved are e.g.
Diplomas, certificates and educational certificates
References, statements and any recommendations from previous employers where it is clearly stated the period in which you were employed.
Salary specifications/salary slips from the past employers.
Account statements that can prove income for a specified period, or work-related travel at home or abroad.
**All interruptions/gaps in education or employment which exceeds 28 days (except ordinary vacation) must be demonstrable and documented. For example periods where you haven't been working or studied. For example, parental leave or other type of leave.
